Which cards got a better offer?

Quick answer

The no-fee Scene+ Visa and its student version now give 10,000 Scene+ points, about $100 toward travel, double the previous 5,000. The Passport Visa Infinite Privilege first bonus rose from 30,000 to 40,000 points.

Scotiabank Scene+ Visa: 2,500 points after $500 plus 7,500 points after $1,500 in purchases in the first 3 months.

Scotiabank Scene+ Visa for students: Same offer as the regular Scene+ Visa: 2,500 points after $500 plus 7,500 after $1,500 in 3 months.

Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Privilege: 40,000 points after $3,000 in 3 months (was 30,000), 30,000 after $20,000 in 6 months, and 10,000 for a purchase in month 14.

Which cards got a worse offer?

Quick answer

The no-fee Scotiabank American Express now gives 5,000 points instead of 10,000. The Platinum American Express still offers 80,000 points in total, but you now need $5,000 in 6 months for the first 45,000 and the last 10,000 arrive in month 14, so less of the bonus lands in your first year.

Scotiabank Platinum American Express: 45,000 points after $5,000 in 6 months, 25,000 after $10,000 in 12 months and 10,000 for a purchase in month 14. It was 60,000 plus 20,000, all inside the first 6 months.

Scotiabank American Express: 2,500 points after $250 plus 2,500 after $1,000 in 3 months. The second part was 7,500 points.

Should I apply now?
