How to choose a business credit card

Business card or personal card?

A separate card keeps business spending out of your personal statements, which makes bookkeeping and tax time simpler. Issuers usually check the owner’s personal credit, and small-business cards often make the owner personally responsible for the balance, so read the cardholder agreement.

Charge card or credit card?

A charge card is meant to be paid in full every month and has no pre-set spending limit. A credit card has a limit and lets you carry a balance, with interest on whatever you don’t pay off.

Points or cash back?

Cash back is simple: a percentage comes back as a credit. Points can be worth more when you redeem them for travel, but their value depends on how you use them.

Can you reach the welcome-offer spend?

Business offers often require $5,000 to $25,000 in purchases within a few months. Count a bonus only if your normal business spending gets there without extra purchases.

Do you need employee cards?

Additional cards range from free to $250 a year each. Check the fee and whether employee spending earns rewards on the main account.

Rates, fees and offers were read on each issuer's own page on October 24, 2026. Offers change often; the issuer's terms apply. WalletReturn does not take applications or check credit.
