Quick answer

CIBC sets the conversion rates and can change them, so check the Rewards Centre before redeeming.

How can you redeem Aventura points?

Quick answer

For flights under the Aventura Airline Rewards Chart, for flexible travel booked through the CIBC Rewards Centre (up to 100% of the cost, including taxes), as a payment against your card balance, toward select CIBC financial products, or for gift cards and merchandise.

For chart flights you must cover at least 80% of the required points with points; the rest can be charged to your card.

Can you convert Aventura points to Aeroplan?

Quick answer

Only on accounts opened before October 1, 2013, which can convert 1 to 1 in 10,000-point blocks. Newer Aventura cards can’t transfer to Aeroplan.

Do Aventura points expire?

Quick answer

Not while your card is open and in good standing. If you close your card, you have 60 days to redeem; if CIBC closes the account, points are forfeited immediately.
