Up to 200,000 BMO Rewards points: 80,000 after $10,000 in the first 110 days, 40,000 more after $20,000 in the first 180 days, and 80,000 more after $40,000 in the first 12 months. Applications must be received November 2, 2026 to October 31, 2027.

|---|---|---|---|
| Top80,000 points | $10,000 | 110 days | $533 |
| 40,000 points | $20,000 | 180 days | $267 |
| 80,000 points | $40,000 | 12 months | $533 |
At BMO’s travel redemption rate of 150 points per $1, 200,000 points are worth about $1,333 in travel.
Current and former eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege cardholders and existing BMO cardholders who switch into the card aren’t eligible. Bonus points can take up to 8 weeks to post, and BMO can take them back if the card is cancelled within a year.
The first target is higher than before, but the full bonus is easier to reach: the old offer needed $6,000 in 110 days, $30,000 in 180 days and $75,000 in a year; the new one needs $40,000 in a year.
How much do you need to spend to get the full bonus?
About $3,380 a month on the card. Spending evenly, you need roughly $2,765 a month for the first 80,000 points and about $3,333 a month for the 12-month target.
| Monthly card spending | 80,000 (110 days) | 40,000 (180 days) | 80,000 (12 months) |
|---|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | No | No | No |
| $3,000 | Yes | No | No |
| $3,500 | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| $4,000 | Yes | Yes | Yes |
At WalletReturn’s example spending of $2,000 a month, none of the three targets is reached.
How many points does the card earn?
Five points per $1 in five categories, each up to an annual spending cap, and 1 point per $1 on everything else. The caps reset every January 1.
| 5x category | Annual spending cap at 5x |
|---|---|
| TopDining | $25,000 |
| Travel: air fare, hotels and car rentals | $25,000 |
| Groceries | $20,000 |
| Gas | $15,000 |
| Health and wellness: gym and golf club memberships, spas, massage, recreation | $15,000 |
Redeemed for travel at 150 points per $1, 5 points per $1 is about 3.33% back and 1 point is about 0.67%. Other purchases redeem at 200 points per $1, so 5x is 2.5% back there.
Adding an additional cardholder earns 25% more points.
Does the BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege charge foreign transaction fees?
No, not from November 2, 2026. Purchases in a foreign currency no longer carry BMO’s foreign currency conversion fee, though the exchange rate still applies.
On $5,000 of purchases in US dollars or other currencies, that saves about $125 compared with a 2.5% fee.
What credits and travel perks come with the card?
A $200 Travel Credit each account year after a single air fare, hotel or car rental purchase of $500 or more; up to $200 back on a NEXUS application fee in the first year; and Visa Airport Companion membership with 10 lounge visits a year for you or a travel companion.
Extra lounge visits cost US$32 per person. Both the primary and additional cardholders must enrol in Visa Airport Companion separately.
BMO also offers six months of Instacart+ and a $10 monthly Instacart credit on its premium cards when activated by October 31, 2027.
Is the BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege worth $599?
For big spenders who travel. If you use the $200 Travel Credit, the fee works out to $399 a year, which 5x points cover once you spend about $11,970 a year in the 5x categories and redeem for travel.
The no-FX-fee change makes it more useful abroad, and 10 lounge passes are generous for a Canadian card. If you spend less than about $3,400 a month on the card, you won’t earn the full welcome bonus, and a lower-fee card may give you more.
